Quiet Games for Loud Days

Not every game needs to test your reflexes or your strategy. Some days I just want to wander somewhere gentle for a while, and mobile is quietly great at that if you know where to look.

Lantern Hollow is the one I keep recommending. It's a hand-drawn exploration game with no combat and no way to lose — you just relight a fading village and slowly piece together why the dark rolled in. It's short, it's beautiful, and it doesn't grab you by the collar demanding engagement.

I think there's real value in games like this, especially on a device that's otherwise a firehose of notifications and noise. A game that lets you slow down is doing something a lot of 'productivity' apps only pretend to.
