About
Onyx Hub started as a shared chat where a few of us kept dropping links to weird little games nobody else was covering. At some point the chat got too big for itself, so we turned it into a site. Everything you read here comes from people who actually finished (or at least seriously wrestled with) the game in question.
We focus on indie and mid-size mobile releases because that's where the interesting design lives. Big studios have their own megaphones; small teams usually don't. We try to be the ear those teams don't get elsewhere, without pretending every game is a masterpiece.
How we pick: someone on the team finds a game, plays it long enough to have an opinion worth defending, and pitches it. If two of us agree it's worth writing about, it gets a review. Genre doesn't matter — puzzle, racing, RPG, whatever — the only rule is that it has to give us something to say.
We don't run sponsored reviews, and developers can't buy a better score. If that ever changes, we'll say so loudly on this page first.
