Neon Drift District

Neon Drift District is all about the slide. You're not really racing lap times so much as chaining drifts through glowing city corners, and the scoring rewards style and control over brute acceleration. The touch controls take a couple of races to click, but once they do, sliding through a hairpin at full tilt feels fantastic.

Tracks are short and built for replaying, which suits mobile perfectly. There's a decent spread of cars that actually handle differently, and the soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting for the vibe. I do wish there were more track variety, since after a while you've seen most of the corners.

It's a comfort-food racer. Nothing revolutionary, but it nails the feel of a good drift, and that's most of what I want from the genre on a phone.
